The year 2000… A turning point etched in Antalyaspor's history with golden letters, a proud Türkiye Kupası adventure that left a sweet-bitter mark in the memory of the Scorpions. That season, alongside its League struggles, Antalyaspor was a storm on the pitch in the Cup.

The journey in the Cup began with a growing whisper of hope in each round. We marched to the final by eliminating Samsunspor in the quarter-finals and then Denizlispor, one of the strong teams of that era, in the semi-finals. Each victory amplified the excitement in the city of Antalya, in the hearts of the Scorpions. Fan support grew like an avalanche, with every match turning into a festival. Eventually, the road to Istanbul was taken for the grand final. The opponent was Galatasaray, a team making waves in Europe that season, a strong contender for the UEFA Cup. Their squad was full of stars; under Fatih Terim, they were playing at their peak. Antalyaspor, on the other hand, was the pride of Anatolia, a team fighting with its heart despite limited resources.

The final match staged a duel that would go down in football history. The desire of both teams to win, their struggle reflected on the field, was incredible. The match ended 2-2 in normal time, going into extra time. The Scorpions never gave up against their star-studded opponent. When we momentarily took a 3-2 lead, shouts of joy erupted all over Antalya. However, we unfortunately conceded goals in extra time, losing 5-3. The Cup might have slipped from our grasp, but that day, football fans saw what a huge heart Antalyaspor possessed.

Despite the defeat, that final was not an end but a new beginning for Antalyaspor. With the European ticket earned as Türkiye Kupası finalists, the Scorpions gained the right to compete in the UEFA Cup in the 2000-2001 season. This was the second European adventure in the club's history and an unforgettable source of pride for the community. We are grateful to the players, technical staff, and the roaring fans of that season.

The 2000 Türkiye Kupası final is not just a football match, but a testament to Antalyaspor's fighting spirit, its never-say-die character, and the strength of Anatolian football. The sorrow of that day has transformed into a proud saga that continues to shine in the history books of our club. The Scorpions will always fight on the field with the same determination and belief, just like in that unforgettable season, and will achieve great successes in the future.
