Antalyaspor president Mustafa Ergün is alleged to have written personal cheques worth around 200 million TL for the club and says he will not leave without being paid, with sponsorship income reportedly earmarked to cover the debt.

Antalyaspor president Mustafa Ergün is alleged to have written personal cheques worth around 200 million TL for the club and stated he will not leave his post without being paid. Journalist Murat Özgen made the claims on the 7 Numara YouTube channel, quoting Ergün as saying, "I wrote personal cheques for around 180-190 million lira. I will not leave without getting the value of these cheques."

According to the allegations, income from the club's newly secured 2-3 year naming and kit sponsorship deals will be used to cover Ergün's personal cheques. This reportedly leaves Antalyaspor with no significant income for the next 2-3 years except for money from Bale, part of which is also said to be owed to Batman Petrolspor due to Samet Karakoç's transfer.

CLAIMS FROM FORMER PRESIDENTS

Former presidents Levent Ördek and Mehmet Bora, who stepped back from the recent presidential race, are also claimed to be owed money by the club. Özgen stated they said, "We took promissory notes for our receivables when we left." Other individuals including Rıza Perçin, Lokman Arslan and Nebi Erdemsoy are also alleged to be creditors, with Arslan's debt said to be around 500-600 thousand Euros.

ON-FIELD SUCCESS CONTINUES

Amid the financial uncertainty, Antalyaspor continue to perform on the pitch, currently sitting 8th in the 1. Lig with 12 points from 8 matches. Their last match was a 3-0 victory over Vanspor FK on September 20th. In that win, Nuno da Costa scored his first goal of the season, while Mevlüt Şimşek and Hasan Yakub İlçin registered their first assists. Technical director Osman Özköylü praised the players after the win but said the team needs to play more aggressively. The team's form in the last five matches reads three wins and two losses.
