Antalyaspor have registered 28 players for the first half of the season, as per the official list published by the Turkish Football Federation. However, five foreign players will continue to receive their salaries without playing due to the 6+2 foreign player rule.
The club could not license Julian Cuesta, Yohan Boli, Kenneth Paal, Dario Saric and Mohamed Bachir Gueye as the foreign quota is full. These players will be paid for the duration of their contracts if they remain in Turkey, where the transfer window is closed. Goalkeeper Doğukan Özkan and Mohamed Bachir Gueye, who were initially listed, were excluded from the final squad. Jesper Ceesay received a license following the departure of Nikola Storm.
Antalyaspor's manager is relying on his current squad to improve their 12th-place standing in the 1. Lig. The team has 9 points from 7 games, with a recent form of two wins and three losses from their last five matches. After beating Ümraniyespor 2-1 last week, they host 16th-placed Vanspor FK tomorrow. The full list of registered players is available on our squad page.
Hasan Yavaşlar said, "Antalyaspor’da 5 yabancı futbolcu oynamadan maaş alacak." The club hopes to alleviate the financial burden through potential sales or loans to countries where the transfer window remains open.
